Where:
MLK Library

Meet us outside the front entry to the MLK Library Saturday, October 16 between 12pm to 4pm
EDT to customize your own Miu Eng “A People Emerging” Risograph printed poster inspired by her
original 1981 Asian American Heritage Week design. Meet Miu and learn about the social history and
creative culture of DC’s Chinatown in the 1970s and 80s. We’ll also have information about other
@1882foundation projects such as @myaapidc and a pop-up display of more Miu Eng design work from
the early 1980s with the Humanities Truck. This program is brought to you in partnership by the 1882
Foundation and the Urban Studio! The event will be held outdoors in the covered entryway to the MLK Jr.
Memorial Library. Open to the public—spread the word! Children are encouraged to participate,
accompanied by their guardians and adults. This program is brought to you courtesy of the DC Public
Library and the 1882 Foundation in collaboration with the Urban Studio. @dearchinatowndc
