Working in DC

The Labor Heritage Foundation and the AFL-CIO presented the 3 weekend-long musical performance of Working in DC, a public celebration of the dignity of work. The Humanities Truck partook in this celebration by inviting audience members to share stories about the personal stories on work they are most proud of in DC. These stories are recorded and shared (shown below) through a community archive to be viewed after the production. The Humanities Truck also featured an art installation by Professor Ludy Grandas of American University titled Jornaleros: Manos Invisibles. The truck was available before and after the show on Black Lives Matter Plaza.

Everyone has something they have worked on in their life.  What is something valuable you have contributed to and can share with others? When thinking about the work you have done in your life thus far, what are you proud of? What can you point to?

We would also like thank  Zachary Howerton, Gabriella Pino-Moreno, William Taft, Stan Kang, Grace Ojo, Andrew Miller for taking the time to interview with us. Unfortunatley, due to some technical difficulties, their videos could not be displayed on the website.
